Director, Jeff Doughten

Mr. Doughten has been directing high school bands for the past 48 years, the last eleven at Palo Duro High School. During his tenure as Palo Duro Band Director, Jeff Doughten has brought great success to the band program earning consecutive first division ratings at the UIL Marching Contest and numerous UIL sweepstakes awards. Mr. Doughten's commitment to his students is a true tribute to the quality and character of an outstanding educator and leader of the "Northside Pride".

Assistant Director, Shandy Shumaker

Shandy Shumaker is the Assistant Director of Bands at Palo Duro High School.  Shandy earned her Bachelors degree from West Texas A&M University in Music Education.  This is her fourth year at Palo Duro. In addition to her duties at Palo Duro High School, she also assists with beginning and advanced groups at Horace Mann Middle School and Travis Middle School. Ms. Shumaker is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, Texas Music Educator’s Association, and the Texas Bandmasters Association.
