Amarillo High School Visual Art Program

The Amarillo High art program offers courses in Art I, Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Jewelry, Digital Graphics/Animation, Electronic Media, Advanced Placement Studio Art, and International Baccalaureate Standard Level A and Higher Level A. The AHS Art Club enhances the art curriculum and offers creative opportunities to any interested AHS student. Supporting Amarillo High's tradition of excellence, the art department provides venues for student recognition in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event and the Texas Panhandle Invitational Student Art Show where students vie for scholarships and awards. Promoting art appreciation and creativity, the art department strives to foster a lifelong love of learning and participation in the visual arts.
