School Bond Passes
Unofficial Results Indicate 67% in Favor
On May 11, Amarillo voters gave approval for AISD to issue $99.45 million worth of bonds to fund new facilities for enrollment growth, including classroom additions to seven schools, two new sixth-grade campuses, and a new elementary school in the Caprock cluster. The proceeds from the bond issue will also be used to enhance security at schools districtwide, and undertake several facility improvements.
